Hello peeps,

Thought its been bare amounts of time since i done anything on this bad boy so ill share my current thoughts. Josh is just in the middle of trying to get a new refreshed site up and running and i am trying to do various bits and bobs.

The last few weeks have seen us get the Purple and Yellow Steadfast and Dapper tee out there. This week we have a new design in print to hopefully have for sale next week!! brap tang a wooloo! Our aims this week are to get the new webby up and running and im working on a new source of Tees which could be amazing if all works out. We are still praying about a place to be able to do this from, somewhere to call ‘work’ rather than ‘bedroom’! Of course finances don’t make it possible for that currently so we are waiting on the Almighty to reveal and plans . . .

So with Doxa, Theology Study, bit of work with Dad this week i have a busy week in store as usual, all good.

So . . . ‘its been a while’, i hear you cry, ‘indeed it has’ is my reply. Anyway, where are we at right now?

Well, both Josh and myself have decided that this year we need to do this pretty much full time to really make things happen. So each day we are putting our heads together and working out the steps we need to take. Everyday we hope that we make even a little step forward.

Currently we have finalized 2 other designs + Steadfast and Dapper that we are going to get printed. We are now in communication with a number of suppliers trying to get the best price for our products. Also, the slight issue of finance . . .we are waiting on around 2000 pounds so that we can purchase a bulk amount of stock to get this going. So if any of you want to donate/lend/give we will certainly consider . . .

So i have been here nearly a week now. Things have been very busy and i have met many people. Nairobi is a cool place, busy, lots of traffic jams and crazy driving. It is far more developed that i imagined. I guess the tourism industry brings in a lot of money here. The road i am staying on is very nice. Its actually the road where the various ambassadors live. For a good mile or so there is the ‘residence’ of many different ambassadors.

You know, God always has a different plan to mine and teaches me things i would not imagine to learn. His ways are not my ways and praise him for that! He has spoken to me about Doxa whilst being here. Lukas who i am visiting is very much a businessman and on sunday he was talking about how he perseveres in business and he knows he has a vision from God and the devil will do all he can to make him give up. But Lukas will not give up, he will see the vision through to its completion.

I really felt the Lord say that was for Doxa too. We have had and will continue to experience setbacks but we are confident we have a vision from the Lord and will we not give up, we will keep fighting until we see Doxa in the place where we believe God plans for it to be. (disclaimer: We are subject to change upon the Lord Almighty’s instruction).

So i wanted to encourage with that this morning. Doxa is coming, be patient but be ready!

OK, So im just chilling here in Kenya right now. Well actually, far from it, it certainly does not feel like chilling. I am roasting, have a cold and sore throat and need a drink. All that said, i love it here. Very friendly, flipping beautiful and am staying on the road where all the ambassadors live here in Nairobi so its quite plush!
Went for a walk this morning and saw monkeys, took a trip to downtown nairobi and now i am in the office doing some emails!
Im looking forward to getting busy tomorrow now that i am settled. As i sit at this desk, there is a quote here which i think is very appropriate for such a time as this. Its by Theodore Roosevelt:

“It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. Ok, so as i was told from one of my ‘business’ friends that the best way is to make sure “you move a step forward every day”. That is exactly what we are trying to do. We aim to be completely ready to launch by the Summer 09 with a range of Tees. We want to have everything in place before we release the long awaited goods!

So this morning we have a meeting with the bank . . thats todays step forward. Yesterdays was the launch of the new website and promo video.

One small issue over the next month is that on tuesday i head to Kenya and then Josh is off to Finland so we will probably not get so much done practically in the next month. We aim for May and June to be big months in getting stock in and generating some income. I am sure we will both still try to accomplish tasks whilst away though, Doxa never stops!

Obviously we continue to value your prayers and support, we are always looking for serious financial investors :) !

I thought the time was right to bash out the first post from myself. May i extend a welcome to everyone checking out this bad boy blog of Doxa Clothing.

Things are starting to move forward very quickly with Doxa now. Having set up as a business with loads of forms to fill in things are looking as Rosy as a Rose garden on a summers day.

I used a voucher I had for WH Smiths to purchase this months edition of ‘Macworld’. Possibly the best magazine on the market. Been having a goose through and as always it contains absolute gems! Funnily enough this month contains a section on ‘Accounting’, how to manage your accounts. Thats exactly what we need to know having just set up as a business – cracking!

Thursday tends to be our Doxa evening and tonight we are chilling at my place, bit of rendevous with the Lord before putting together some ideas for our Website and myspace whilst watching the screen printing training DVD in the background. Can’t think of a better way to spend a Thursday night.

You may be wondering why you can’t get hold of your own Doxa tee yet . . . .well friends, Doxa are not interested in the market of cheap and cheerful. OUr designs take time to perfect, a Doxa tee will never be sold until we can guarantee its ready for such a departure from our warehouse.

OK well, i must get back to the drawing board but ill leave you with our favourite quote to ponder . . . ‘produced in the future, but ready just in time’
